Another long overdue update. It's been at least 6 months since the last proper one, a few random doodles aside.
It's Christmas! I hope you've all had a good time this year, spent with either friends or family :)
This year has been an interesting one! For many good and bad reasons. There's no doubt that the world is in a bit of a sorry state in many ways. We've all had to take the small victories where we can to get by.
I'm going into the next decade with some new found optimism despite what's been occuring. With a positive outlook in mind, i'm hoping that 2020 will shape up into a year to remember. To all of you, I wish you the best. No matter how small the goal, whether to improve your art or some aspect of your life, i hope you get there or at least start the journey to do so.
For now, enjoy the holidays. Make the most of the close company you keep. And here's to a better year in 2020!
Random whispering from withinn the Void
I've been very absent from DeviantART for the better part of the last 5 years. The reason being: Full time employment.
My spare time has been lacking as has my motivation, but recently i've found new found inspiration to just draw. This came about as soon as a long distance friend got me into TF2, which spurred on my drive to create fanart after an OC burnout.
I've learned a lot in the last year, there was a bit perfectionist issue with my old work which i'm working past. Now i post often even if i'm not 100% happy with the sketch or final product. It's more so just to prove that stuff is being done, slowly but surely. It's such a little thing, to just let yourself draw without a goal. Before i think there was an expectation that doing art as a career was the end goal but now...it's just a hobby. I'm much better for it, though that choice is not for everyone.
I had to take a hard look at my stuff. My old style has evolved into something completely different, gone away is the excessive gore and in it's place it something new. I still love drawing horror, gore and blood but there's less pressure to ensure it's the main focus of evey picture.
Sorry to all of those that watched me for that specific type of art, but i needed a refresh and no doubt i'll need another one in a while.
I may be a little distant from DA but i'll never forget the friends i made here, so if you are still here let me know! I'd love to know if you've also moved onto other sites or if you're still just as active here
Posts will be sporadic, but i've never lost the habit of checking DA every now and then. I hope you're all doing well and are working towards something positive.

1.Who is your favourite author and what would be your favourite book by them?
Oh wow its been ages since I've read a real book…lets just say Lewis Carol's Alice in Wonderland.
What? Don't look at me like that. I don't count manga as books so that effectively cuts my reading down by 90%.
2. What art/artists inspire you most?
At the moment, video game art XD I've been In a big slump lately and I thought I could use a break from drawing my OC's. So I've been doing some fanart of Animal crossing, sonic, Megaman ect (with my own bloody twist of course).
I want to start some actual REAL backgrounds this year too.
Artists that inspire me…hmmm does everyone who owns an artblog on tumblr count? I guess on a more famous note shirow miwa or Todd McFarlane. On a more local level, Countandi (her zany style is so much fun to look at)
3. What got you into drawing yourself?
Manga…how unoriginal. Well I guess anime came first, with the likes of dragon ball z, digimon, pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh, it's no wonder that I got into Manga which lead to the drawing. Well I did go through that phase of 'OMG Imma make a manga now', yeah never gonna happen…I'm WAAAAAYY too lazy for that (not to mention lack of talent XD)
4. Is there something you're supposed to be doing right now, but you're putting off? What is it?

5. Describe to me your favourite OC out of all of the ones you have created.
Hmmm that's a tough one, to be honest all of their personalities are pretty 2D XD not much depth in a bunch of dead circus performers. I'm workin' on it. But I'd have to say Cactus, his origin is a mystery even to me, can't even remember why he became an actual character. He was just there one day 8D Also I love picking on him, he's my vent character :3
6. What music are you loving at the moment?
EVERYTHING. Just give me all the well-constructed noise plz.
7. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? Why that place?
Pyramid, curses may not be the greatest security, but I like the idea of pretending to be a mummy when tourists arrive.
8. Are you good at keeping your drawings to your sketchbook or are the type to sketch on loose leafs of paper?
Loose leaf gal right here. I hate how sketch books can smear drawings…and I feel so restricted in a book. It may look nicer but I prefer more space.
9. Would you ever be interested in exploring abandoned places?
URBEXING ALL THE WAY. I'd love to explore them, I've got a book on Urbex and it's pretty amazing to see what just gets left behind. And how it takes on a whole new beauty without the aid of people.
10. SOME ADVICE ON KEEPING THESE GODDAMN MOSQUITOES AWAY WOULD BE REAL HELPFUL RIGHT ABOUT NOW. GOD, HELP ME.

Things have started to move into the right direction, i've been offered an apprenticeship and although its IT based i'm sure only good can come out of it. So now i actually feel somewhat motivated to be creative, something thats been absent from me since christmas. So the following is my idea; Mail art trades, just sending out pictures to you guys because everyone feels better when they get mail 8D (well i do...) and in return you send one back. I've bought this beautiful little notebook and i'd love to fill it with pictures from you guys, just to serve as some inspiration and something that'll no doubt cheer me up. Hopefully it'll be similar for you :3 heres the run down:
I had an idea reguarding art trades, how about an art trade where you recieve the physical picture drawn. As much as i love digital work it some how always seemed more satisficing to commission and keep traditinal work. Plus it just seemed like a nice gesture to send and recieve pictures from other artists.
The only thing i'd have to warn you about is that this goes both ways so you'd have to be comfortable with sending me your address via note or email and i'll do the same.
So if you're comfortable with both providing an address and sending out an art trade, then we can go into the request side of it :3
You're more then welcome to request OC's, exsisting characters, chibi's and i'll give anthro characters a fair chance to. Mecha is something i don't have a lot of experience with so i'd advise against requesting that. (any horror is more then welcome >:3)
As with reguards to colouring/ink ect it'll vary. You can do the same. Some people may get inked pictures, some may get a page of sketches, some may get full colour (minus backgrounds, but who knows). you can do the same for your half, that way its a pleasant surprise when the trade arrives :3
If your interested comment or note me and we can start exchanging info. I'm not sure how many i'll take for the moment...i guess ten is a good starting point.
I'll probably end up writting you a small note filled with random stuff as well :3

Skulking skype
So this means i shall be wanting skype addresses. please. pretty please :3. I haven't really had a chance to test it all out as of yet, but it seems simple enough.
As well as skype, tumblr has been my latest victim, i don't blog as often as some but trust me when i say its like a deep black void of GIFs, art and random quotes. I find myself stuck in an internet trance whenever the floodgates open for the infinite scroll on that damn website. Still its entertaining 8D
